🍯 Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs
Ingredients
2 lbs pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
1 tbsp ketchup (for richness and color)
1 tbsp sesame oil (optional but great)
1 tsp ginger, grated (optional)
1/2 tsp black pepper
Sesame seeds + green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ribs
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Pat the ribs dry and remove the thin membrane from the back if still attached.
- Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Place ribs on a baking tray lined with foil.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 2.5–3 hours until tender.
- Make the Sticky Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine:
Honey
Soy sauce
Minced garlic
Brown sugar
Vinegar
Ketchup
Sesame oil
Ginger (optional)
Stir and simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Glaze the Ribs
- Remove ribs from the oven once tender.
- Brush generously with the honey garlic sauce.
- Increase oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) or switch to broil.
- Return ribs to the oven for 10–12 minutes, brushing with more sauce halfway through, until sticky and caramelized.
- Serve
Brush with extra sauce.
Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
Serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or salad.
