π Maraschino Cherry Sugar Cookies
π Ingredients
Β½ cup butter, softened
ΒΎ cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
Β½ tsp baking powder
ΒΌ tsp salt
Β½ cup finely chopped maraschino cherries (drained & patted dry)
2β3 tbsp cherry juice (from the jar), as needed
Optional: white chocolate drizzle for topping

Beat Butter & Sugar
In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Wet Ingredients
Mix in the egg and vanilla.
Combine Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
Add the Cherries
Fold in the chopped cherries.
Add 1β2 tablespoons of cherry juice until the dough is soft but not sticky.
Shape the Cookies
Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto a lined baking sheet.
Bake
Bake at 350Β°F (175Β°C) for 10β12 minutes, until edges are lightly set.
Finish
Let cool completely.
Drizzle with melted white chocolate if you want an extra pretty finish.
