Keto Cheddar Bacon Jalapeño Scones

These low-carb scones are unbelievably fluffy, cheesy, savory, and packed with flavor. They’re keto-friendly, gluten-free, grain-free, and refined sugar-free — but taste like the real deal! Made with almond flour, mozzarella, cheddar, jalapeños, and bacon, they deliver the perfect balance of heat, richness, and comfort.

Ingredients

2 cups almond flour

1 tbsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp garlic powder (optional but recommended)

2 large eggs

¼ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

2 tbsp melted butter

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2–3 jalapeños, finely diced (seeds removed for mild heat)

6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

2 tbsp chopped chives or green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine:

almond flour

baking powder

salt

garlic powder

Stir to evenly distribute everything.

  1. Add the Wet Ingredients

To the dry mixture, add:

eggs

sour cream

melted butter

Mix until a thick dough begins to form.

  1. Add the Cheeses and Flavor Mix-Ins

Fold in:

shredded mozzarella

shredded cheddar

bacon

jalapeños

chives/green onions (if using)

The dough should be soft but not sticky — similar to biscuit dough.

  1. Shape the Scones

You can make them two ways:

Round biscuits (like your photos):
Roll the dough gently and cut into circles using a biscuit cutter.

Traditional scone wedges:
Shape the dough into a circle and cut into 6–8 triangle wedges.

Place onto your lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.

  1. Bake

Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until:

tops are golden

edges are lightly crisp

centers are set and fluffy

(If air frying, bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes.)

  1. Cool & Serve

Let them cool slightly — they firm up as they rest.
Serve warm with butter, cream cheese, or enjoy on their own!

Tips for the Best Keto Scones

Want extra fluff? Add 1–2 tbsp coconut flour.

For more heat, keep some jalapeño seeds or add a dash of cayenne.

Replace bacon with ham or sausage for variation.

These freeze beautifully — reheat in air fryer or oven.
