- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon corn syrup
- 2 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Extra crushed candy canes for coating
- Prepare the Pan: Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper. Dust the bottom lightly with powdered sugar to prevent sticking. 2. Make the Sugar Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil and cook until it reaches 240°F. 3. Whip the Egg Whites: Beat egg whites and salt in a stand mixer until stiff peaks form. 4. Combine Syrup and Egg Whites: Carefully pour hot syrup into the egg whites while beating.
