  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • A few drops of pink food coloring
  • Pretzel sticks or candy canes (for tree trunks)
  • Green candy melts or white chocolate (colored green)
  • Sprinkles, sugar pearls, or edible glitter for decoration
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners. 2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. 3. In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. 4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract. 5. Gradually add the dry ingredients alternating with the milk and mix until just combined. 6. Divide the batter evenly between the cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes. Allow them to cool on a wire rack. 7. For the pink frosting, beat the softened butter until smooth, gradually adding powdered sugar and mixing well after each addition. 8. Add heavy cream, vanilla extract, and pink food coloring, mixing until smooth and fluffy. 9. For the edible trees, melt the green candy melts or white chocolate and dip pretzel sticks or candy canes into it. Decorate with sprinkles and let cool. 10. Once the cupcakes are cool, pipe the pink buttercream frosting on top and gently insert the edible Christmas trees for decoration.
