Ground Beef and Gravy Over Mashed Potatoes

1 lb (450 g) ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp butter or oil

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 cups beef broth (warm)

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional but amazing)

Β½ tsp paprika

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional: sliced mushrooms or peas

2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, peeled and cubed

3 tbsp butter

Β½ cup warm milk or cream

Salt, to taste

Mashed Potatoes

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (15–20 min).
  2. Drain, add butter and warm milk.
  3. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt.

Ground Beef & Gravy

  1. Heat butter/oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and cook until soft (3–4 min).
  3. Add garlic, then ground beef. Cook until browned.
  4. Sprinkle flour over beef, stir well, and cook 1 minute.
  5. Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
  6. Add Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer 5–7 minutes until thick and rich.

🍽️ To Serve

Spoon the mashed potatoes onto a plate and smother generously with the beef and gravy.
Optional: sprinkle with parsley or cracked peppe
