Apple Pie Egg Rolls
Ingredients
2 tbsp unsalted butter
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
3–4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
1 package egg roll wrappers
1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
Oil, for frying
Optional: powdered sugar, caramel sauce, or vanilla ice cream for serving
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Cook apple filling
In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook 5–7 minutes until apples are tender and caramelized. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
2️⃣ Fill egg rolls
Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape. Spoon 2–3 tbsp of apple filling near the bottom corner. Fold bottom corner over filling, then fold sides in and roll tightly. Seal edges with beaten egg.
3️⃣ Fry egg rolls
Heat 2–3 inches of oil in a deep pan or skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
4️⃣ Serve
Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
