🍮 Grandma’s Old-Fashioned Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce 😍

Ingredients
8 cups cubed white bread
1 cup raisins
4 cups milk
½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
Pinch of salt
For the Vanilla Sauce:
1 cup milk
½ cup sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Prepare Bread & Raisins
Place cubed bread and raisins in the baking dish.
Make the Custard
In a saucepan, heat milk and butter until butter melts.
In a bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
Slowly pour warm milk mixture into eggs while whisking constantly.
Combine
Pour custard over bread and raisins, pressing lightly to soak all pieces.
Bake
Bake for 45–50 minutes, until the top is golden and the custard is set.
Make Vanilla Sauce
In a small saucepan, combine milk, sugar, and butter. Heat until sugar dissolves.
Stir in vanilla extract. For a thicker sauce, dissolve cornstarch in a little milk and add while stirring until thickened.
Serve
Serve bread pudding warm with generous drizzle of vanilla sauce on top.
